Sero-tonin Synd-rome (a life-threatening condition) was seen in surgeries where very high doses of MB were administered with SS-RIs, drugs that increase serotonin, and there were lethal effects. The FDA maintains a warning to not combine methylene blue with SS-RI however, the Mayo Clinic retracted this warning, and the country of Canada has as well.
